More Independents

There is a growing tide of applicants to The Independent Network. It is a delight to report that I have assisted several by direct personal contact too.

I am on the Executive Board and one of my tasks is to endorse applicants as supported candidates – a process that involves reading a manifesto, a personal statement, a campaign plan, a sheaf of referees and an assent to The Bell Principles.

Have a look at the website –

I am also aware of large numbers of other Independents around the UK. Not only is there a chance of a hung parliament in which small parties and independents will have greater leverage but I am coming round to the idea that there will be a quite large number of Independents. The depth of disaffection that the electorate feels for the established political class can scarcely be plumbed.
