The volume of output from academia and the commentariat about the possibility and practicality of a hung parliament is growing daily. Here is a good piece from The Grauniad:

Conservative support is evaporating rapidly and, on present figures, a hung parliament is almost certain.
We can and should go further than this. With a large, strong and confident block of Independents and small parties we can start to think of alliances to be forged, influences to be wielded and changes to be enforced – such as proportional representation, which would constitute an irreversible and long overdue change in our democratic landscape.
This is getting more exciting by the day.
